Through local donors and youth agricultural programs, Kids Feeding Kids provides resources for agencies who house and care for our community's most vulnerable.
The concept of Kids Feeding Kids was created in 2014 when four local children's shelters received a donation of meat from 4H and FFA student projects. These projects were raised by local ag kids who showed at the Comal County Junior Livestock Show, and was purchased through a local buying group.
A group of volunteers from the buying group recognized the opportunity to address the ongoing need in the community, coupled with supporting ag youth, and carried the concept forward.
On June 24, 2021, Kids Feeding Kids officially became a 501(c)(3) allowing us to provide even more resources for those who need it most.
With our main fundraiser in October, and donations throughout the year, we raise money to invest in youth ag projects. Those projects are then processed and donated right back into our community.
We also receive generous donations directly through student exhibitors as we did at the 2023 and 2024 Comal County Jr Livestock shows. Student exhibitors donated 125+ broilers to the shelters across Comal County through Kids Feeding Kids. The animals were shown on Wednesday, processed on Thursday, and picked up on Friday by local shelters in record time.
"Providing meat is such a great way to serve our organization as it helps us greatly… In fact, not only do we use this meat to provide a meal for our youth, but it is also a tool. You see, teaching our youth how to cook is such a great basic life skill and they enjoy doing it. Different meat cuts allow us to educate the youth on different cooking methods. I cannot tell you how helpful these meat donations have been for our shelters. Thank you so much for thinking of us, once again. We appreciate Kids Feeding Kids very much!"

"This donation is used in preparing the hot meals that our students are provided which is an important component of our Ministry. We also are able to provide to the families packaged meat for their own use in meals prepared at home.
Kids Feeding Kids is feeding families in our community by donating meat to Kids Club. We are extremely grateful to all those who make this opportunity happen. Thank you."
